Kellner introduces the bio-bibliography with a discussion of Donald Windham's background, writing style, and reception by publishers and readers. He likens Windham's subtle style to E.M. Forster, and he suggests that America's action-oriented culture lacks patience for Windham's offerings, which are homosexual but not erotic, Southern but not gothic. Tall octavo. 92, [2] pp. Fine with a couple of authorial manuscript corrections in the text, in a fine dust jacket printed in Rives light cotton (tiny bit of edgewear) and lightly creased tissue overjacket with a couple of tiny nicks. The jacket is letter W of only 26 produced for the book, "named for friends of the subject and the author." Laid in is a photocopy facsimile of the *Tenth Year Supplement, 1991-2001*, which was published in an edition of only 26 copies, as well as a prospectus for books published by Sandy Campbell.
