Eddie ends up with a girl friend, Tara (Lisa Ristorucci), who gets him hooked on heroin, while Miles meets Rachel (Elizabeth Horsburgh), a pretty college student who gives him a place to styay and helps him find work at the café where she waits tables. As Eddie's life rapidly rushes towards tragedy, Miles' slowly improves.
