This classic setting of DIXIT DOMINUS (Psalm 110) has long been a benchmark in the Roger Dean catalogue as a fine scholarly edition and, in fact, has become a standard in quality repertoire available for SSAA choirs. The late David Larson, a renowned musicologist, transcribed and edited this work nearly 20 years ago. As a testament to his work and the continued popularity of Galuppi's setting, a new edition incorporating an updated notational style and a slightly revised keyboard realization seems altogether appropriate. The choral parts remain unchanged and editorial marks are clearly indicated as before. Although the pagination is necessarily different than the first edition because of the smaller trim size used for the convenience of the singers, the measures are numbered in the same manner so that both editions may be used simultaneously. The full score and instrumental parts, formerly available only by the rental of penciled manuscript, are now engraved and available for purchase.
