Wer die wirkliche Erlosung vom Schmerz erzielen will, muss nicht sowohl den Schmerz beseitigen (unterdrucken, verhullen)2), als sein Auftreten fur alle Zukunft unmoglich machen. Da nun der Schmerz notwendig so lange wahrt, als die Seele sich mit Korpern und Organen verbindet8), so ist das Heil nur dann erreicht, wenn der Wanderung der Seele ein Ende gesetzt ist. Zu diesem Ziel, dem, absoluten Aufhoren' (atyanta-nivrtti) des Schmerzes, ist allein die Philosophie imstande dem Menschen zu verhelfen. Mit diesem ') S.
