Im zweiten Teile fiel der Schwerpunkt des Interesses auf die Geschichte, welche die lateinische ???bersetzung in der christlichen Philosophie und Theologie des Mittelalters durchlaufen. Indessen der Weg, welchen das Buch \"de causis\" durch die christliche Spekulation des Mittelalters genommen, war viel deutlicher abgegrenzt und viel leichter zu verfolgen, als die bisherigen Angaben es erwarten lie???en. Das Buch \"de causis\" spielte in der Geschichtschreibung der mittelalterlichen Philosophie die Rolle einer unbekannten Gr???sse, welche, so schien es, von mancher Seite um so lieber angerufen, bald verd???chtigt und verleumdet, bald in der unverdientesten Weise anerkannt und gefeiert wurde, je mehr sie sich der Kontrolle entzog.\" Dieses Buch ???ber die pseudo-Aristotelische Schrift ???ber das reine Gute, bekannt unter dem Namen \"Liber de causis\" ist ein unver???nderter Nachdruck der Originalausgabe von 1882.
