Zu den miteinander konkurrierenden Akteuren z???hlen Regional- und Gro???m???chte wie die T???rkei, der Iran, Russland, die USA, die Europ???ische Union und China. Die Staaten in dieser Region sind somit teils g???nzlich, teils situationsbedingt zum Spielball der Gro???- und Regionalm???chte geworden, die das vorhandene ethnische, religi???se und soziale Konfliktpotential f???r ihre eigenen Zwecke instrumentalisieren. Aus diesem Grund sind Bef???rchtungen, dass sich die Verh???ltnisse in dieser Region jenen ann???hern k???nnten, die teilweise im Nahen und Mittleren Osten herrschen, nicht ganz von der Hand zu weisen. Ziel dieses Forschungsvorhabens ist es, Triebkr???fte der politisch-strategischen Entwicklungen in der Region im Lichte historisch bedingter Konstellationen darzustellen und die Potentiale einer dauerhaften Friedenssicherung in der Region im Lichte der Interessen der Gro???- und Regionalm???chte auszuloten.
