Fact boxes and graphics form structuring elements, alongside a chronological and systematic arrangement of chapters. The new history of the Academy offers the first overview of the history of science in Austria in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. German description: 175 Jahre Osterreichische Akademie der Wissenschaften. Zu diesem Anlass prasentiert die OAW ihre "neue Akademiegeschichte" in drei Banden. Sie reicht von der Zeit ihrer Grundung 1847 in der Habsburgermonarchie bis in die unmittelbare Gegenwart und verschrankt die Geschichte der Institution mit der Geschichte der Forschungspraxis und dem Wandel der Wissenschaften in Osterreich und Europa.
