Erst Kr???nig (1856), Clausius {1857) u. a. entwickelten von neuem, ohne Bernoullis Werk zu kennen, dieselben Gedanken, die schon von Clausius zu gro???er Fruchtbarkeit gebracht und von sp???teren Forschern zu einem be- deutenden und wichtigen Teile der Physik ausgearbeitet worden sind. Nach der kinetischen Gastheorie nehmen wir an, die Mole- der Gase seien vollst???ndig voneinander getrennt und bewegen kein sich geradlinig vorw???rts. F???r ein ruhendes Gas sind sowohl die Geschwindigkeiten ???ber s???mtliche Molekeln, als auch die Rich- tungen der Geschwindigkeiten ???ber den dem Gase zur Verf???gung stehenden Raum gleichm??????ig verteilt. Den Molekeln schreiben wir eine gewisse Ausdehnung zu. Sie werden sich somit nicht ungest???rt durcheinander bewegen k???nnen, sondern sie werden Zusammenst??????e erfahren und auch St??????e auf die Wand des der Gef??????es vollf???hren, welches das Gas einschlie???t. Infolge Zusammenst??????e werden sich sowohl die Geschwindigkeiten als auch die Bewegungsrichtungen der Molekeln best???ndig ???ndern. Damit wir es aber mit einem station???ren Zustande zu tun haben, das hei???t, damit das Gas mit der Zeit seine Eigenschaften nicht J???ger, Die Foriachritte der kinetischen Gastheorie.
