Von daher stellt die Studie die Frage nach den dramaturgischen Funktionen der Musik in den dramatischen Werken schlechthin. Die Singspiele werden dabei als verschiedene Modellversuche der Interpretation und Integration von Musik in das gesprochene Schauspiel entdeckt. Das Hauptgewicht der interdisziplin???r ausgerichteten Untersuchung liegt auf detaillierten Analysen der Singspiele und der dramaturgischen Funktion der musikalischen Partien in den klassischen Dramen. Damit wird die Dichotomie Schau-/Singspiel relativiert.
