Seller's Description:
Good + 8vo-over 7¾-9¾" tall. pp. 219. Book in excellent clean condition, spine unbroken, pages browning with age, but a very good copy. An astonishing social document, the diary of a 'Prussian gentleman' charting the growth of fascism in Germany during the thirties-providing a prophetic insight into the psychotic soul of Nazi Germany. The author was murdered in Dachau in 1945, and his journal published first in Germany in 1947. It was translated by Paul Rubens in 1970. Perhaps required reading for modern Europeans as a united Europe begins to crumble.
