The texts of a handful of short speeches are also known to us, primarily through contemporary newspaper accounts. All are presented in English translation here. Readers of Grieg's letters (Edvard Grieg: Letters to Colleagues and Friends) know that the great composer was a writer of considerable skill, and the items contained in these pages provide further evidence of that fact. With the publication of this book, all of Grieg's most important 'literary' works -- letters, diaries, articles and speeches -- are now available in English translation.
