Probably the best book ever written by a hostage about the experience of captivity. Terry Anderson endured an eight-year ordeal as a hostage in the Middle East. His account is really more about the human factors, his endurance and courage which Anderson calls forth to overcome his terrible situation, rather than the political clashes which created a situation that made it possible for him to be abducted. His faith become important as well in overcoming the darkness of his situation, and the story is moving and beautifully written, including poetry by Anderson. A classic.
