Not a recipe book, but a comprehensive presentation of suggestions from an experienced observer on the best way to explore amateur astronomy. It is a great First Book that includes details that many have taken a lifetime to learn through trial & error. Additionally, it provides a good guide to what can be found in the night sky--and how to find it too. I only wish I would have had Coe's book when I put my toe in the astronomy pool.
