Neil DeGrasse Tyson is capable of making you laugh out loud whilst explaining the universe's great splendours and mechanics!
In the likeness of Carl Sagan(with more jabs and nudges of humour interlaced), Dr. Tyson provides insight into opening one's mind into a scientist! Relating physical phenomena to that of our ordinary experience , you too can ponder on what the astrophysicist ponders without complex mathematics or hyper-syllable words that confuse the casual reader.
I appreciated this book as a student of physics and astronomy because he puts us (humans) in our place, makes us seem petty and funny little creatures that inhabit a mote of dust within a (literally) unfathomably vast universe .
I personally recommend his 'On Being' series of essays, because they beg the questions that make many pause and think, "Oh, I never thought of that..." and give proper explanations, making you feel all that much wiser!
This book is a compilation of his wildly popular essays, written with an intended order, although they can be read at random with just as much satisfaction.
This book can be read twice consecutively and still be enjoyed. Highly recommend for any that look to the stars and feel struck by the feeling of wonder.
Brilliant!
5/5 Stars and I have recommended to friends...and they loved it!
