He begins hearing a female voice in his dreams, telling him that she is coming for him. The sudden appearance of Mae-Rus, an alien from the planet Aurelia, and her warning of impending planetary doom, shock Jeremiah into accepting his dreams as reality. According to this alien, the human race is in a death spiral, only one generation away from self-destruction. She recruits Jeremiah to become her messenger, announcing the opportunity to join the cosmic community. Reluctantly, he accepts the mission, only to find himself in the middle of a cover-up of galactic proportions.
