Because father was in the Death March & subsequent prison camps, this is a subject I'm always wanting to learn more about. With first-hand accounts by some actual participants, including female nurses, it's a very personal account and well worth the time to read.
Death March
An awfully hard book to read knowing that these events were real and not a movie. Wars seem to bring out the most barbaric acts. This was a real insight into the mind of the Japanese soldier and the code that he lived by. It was equally insightful reading about the courage these men faced every minute of every day.
