This is a very funny book about a dog named Ike who is sent off to obedience school. The story is told through letters and newspaper clippings. Ike writes letters to his owner (Mrs. LaRue) that make his school sound like a prison, but the pictures tell another story. The illustrations are big and vibrant with colorful pictures placed in contrast to the black and white of Ike's imagined prison. This story of a sometimes naughty but always devoted dog will be enjoyed by all.
