INSCRIBED warmly on ffep by author. 179pp. hardback tall 8vo: Fine in a near Fine dj in Brodart poly cover. Townsend, who died a year after this book was published, aged 48, founded Atlanta Magazine in 1961. He later founded city magazines in New Orleans and Cincinnati and consulted on 30 more. Time Magazine called him "the father of city magazines in America." His exceptionally warm inscription is to another iconic Atlanta figure, Faith Brunson, who ran a renowned book department in Atlanta's famous Rich's department store from 1945 until Rich's was sold in the late 1970s. A very nice nostalgic Atlanta item.
