Gray Man Rocks!
No one writes propulsive, explosive action thrillers like Mark Greaney.
His attention to detail, tradecraft, and lingo add such a level of verisimilitude that you can feel the bullets whizzing by.
Court Gentry, the Gray Man, is a master assassin. He's ex-CIA. Now a singleton operator. He has a moral code. He will only kill righteous targets. Bad men for good reason.
After being deceived by his countymen some years ago a SOS (shoot on sight) directive was issued by the CIA against him.
He ha made a lot of enemies.
Following his latest mission to "have a word" with a former employer, Russian mob boss Gregor Sidorenko, who betrayed him, Court encounters something he never has before.
Russell "Dead Eye" Whitlock was trained in the same program as Gentry. He is also ex-CIA. After being deemed a psychopath he now works for Townsend Government Services. They are are off-the-books group funded by the CIA. They have been tasked at targeting and taking out the Gray Man.
Dead Eye is a highly-trained killer. Just like Court Gentry.
His plan is to look like he's trying to help Gentry and wanting to team up with him.
He has something far more sinister in mind.
Throw beautiful Mossad agent Ruth Ettinger and her team, also on the ground and after Court, into the mix, then stir in ample amounts of deceit, misdirection, betrayal, and mind-boggling action and you have a fine stew of danger and nerve-wracking tension that Greaney and Gray Man are are known for.
The entire book is like a non-stop action sequence. LOVE IT!
