First read then make a judgment if I am telling the truth. I have heard so many pastors, evangelists, ministers, teachers, deacons, and just your average everyday church member say this and they are wrong. The -cursed with a curse- of Malachi 3 is for ISRAEL! The prophet Malachi is completely addressing the priests, Levites, and people of Israel. It is a good teaching tool and holds good information. But if you are using it out of context to tell people that God is going to curse them if they do not pay their tithes, then you are mistaken! If God curses us with the curse mentioned in Malachi, then we would have to throw out the whole gospel because the curse that is spoken of is part of the Law of Moses. Christ removed all the curses under the law by taking them onto Himself. When we tell Christians that this scripture is God telling them He is going to curse them if they don't pay their tithes, we are not only telling an untruth, but we are also going against the very teachings of Christ and the apostles.
