Standard Reference
While you can get more detailed treatments of individual classes of ships, or a specific navy's ships, this is the best overall single source of information on all the world's cruisers during WW2. It has discussions of design concepts/evolution, detailed technical information (armor, armament, propulsion, radar, upgrades over time) individual unit history during the war and good photographs. It does not have TROMS and detailed armor schematics/diagrams however, so if you want to dive deep on an individual ship this may not be the book for you. Basically, this is a very capable and accurate standard reference work.
