This is a really exciting story about a girl coming of age. Meliara and her brother must fight for what they believe in, and she spends most of the first half of the book on the run to avoid being captured. Her escapades are sure to delight young and old alike. The second part focuses more on her adventures at court. She must put aside some preconceived notions and look below the surface to discover which people she can trust. I bought this book for my 12 year old daughter, but both of us enjoyed it immensely. It has fantasy, action, romance, and intrigue. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.
