Dust jacket design in black, white, and red with a photograph of The Houses of Parliament. B/w photograph of the author on rear of dust jacket. / From the library of Victor Ross (1919-2021) an Austrian Jewish refugee from Nazi occupation who became Chairman of Reader's Digest, Europe, and an author. He conceived and led the 'Thank You Britain' fund in the 1960s, raising £96, 000 (well over £1 million in today's terms) within the Jewish refugee community from central Europe, for a scholarship fund and series of annual lectures at the British Academy. The dancer Hildegarde Peiser was Victor Ross' second wife. She was the sister of actress Lilli Palmer, who married to Rex Harrison. Very good indeed in about very good dust jacket.
