If you watch Jerry Yarnell on your local PBS station, you know he's a master at landscapes. His books give you step-by-step instruction on how to recreate your own versions of paintings. I find that his level of detail is just about right for me as a beginning painter. (NOTE: I have no aspirations to be professional, but I love painting for my own enjoyment.) Each step is accompanied by color photographs of the result of that step. The color mixing instructions are sometimes a little off (the "same" color from different paint manufacturers can be wildly different in actual appearance), but that gives me an opportunity to experiment and learn. And after completing one full painting from his books (I have several), I was stunned by how good it was. If you like to paint, you'll learn a lot by working through Jerry Yarnell's painting books. I don't know if his whole series of books is still in print, but if not, I hope the publisher decides to put them out again. They're well worth having!

Great Instuctional Book
Jerry Yarnell has done it again. If you like his show, you'll like his books. This volume full of detail and fine examples of how to add light and life to your paintings. A great additional to your library.
