Probably not, according to Feldman. He dissects Chinese leadership and political structure in a very clear way. Readable, even. But if China's economy plummets, as it will, there's not a lot to bind us together. They want the #1 spot we now hold, and think they will get it by economic muscle. Their military is growing, too, but I don't think they will be able to catch up in a conventional war. And they really don't have any great values to offer the world. Despite our idiot mistakes in Vietnam and Iraq, the world still likes our ideals, even when they don't like us. The Chinese offer their own people prosperity, but not personal freedom as we see it. But you be the judge: Feldman offers the data without any big over-the-top conclusions. A top pick.
