This does not have the "kiss and tell" feel that most other Marilyn books have. There is a sense of warmth and respect. Very factual, as well as interesting. Definitely a page turner.
W. J. Weatherby was hired by The London Observer to cover the making of "The Misfits". He ends up with an unlikely acquaintance with Marilyn. It's cute to hear about how she refused interviews and how he would specifically interview everyone in the cast but her. It was almost like a "flirty courtship".
The book portrays Marilyn as the intelligent, lively, and even quirky human being that she was. This book is a must read for any true Marilyn fan.
