The Concerto is divided into two segments: three lengthy but often soaring Sanborn/orchestra duets and five mainly mellow radio friendly pop-jazz pieces that sound like outtakes from Sanborn and Bob James' Double Vision album. Despite appearances by Eric Clapton and Elton John's percussionist Ray Cooper on these latter tunes, don't expect the funky and upbeat landscapes Sanborn is most at home in.
