Complete Vee Jay Recordings, Vol. 2 [1993], the second of two CDs, continues the reissuing of all of his 1959-61 recordings for Vee Jay. Although there are a few lightweight tracks, most of the selections find Henderson swinging lightly or wringing honest emotion out of the ballads. The backup varies greatly, from string orchestras and the Count Basie Big Band, to a combo with tenor-saxophonist Eddie Harris, and a quartet headed by pianist Tommy Flanagan.
