Excerpt from Common Affections of the Liver So many excellent accounts of diseases of the liver have been written that it is necessary to apologise for and ex plain the appearance of this little book. I have from tims to time been asked to reprint some of my clinical lectures, but I have never done it. Then I was asked to write a short book on the clinical aspects of diseases of the liver; so I have, after much persuasion, taken my notes of such of my clinical lectures as have dealt with diseases of the liver, and have arranged them so as to form this book. It represents clinical teaching. The rarer conditions are only men tioned briefly, the excessively unusu al are omitted altogether. It is intended for students beginning their work, and not for those who have extensive clinical knowledge.
