"Rupert of Deutz (born ca. 1075-1080, died ca. 1129) was a Benedictine monk and theologian who became the abbot of a monastery in Deutz, a town that is now a suburb of Cologne, Germany. Rupert was involved in theological controversies of the twelfth century and wrote many works on theology and Biblical interpretation.
