Die zahlreichen Schul visitationen der Reformatoren in Mittel und Norddeutschland, ihr weitreichender schriftlicher Verkehr, die stattliche Schar f???r den Unterricht der Jugend begeisterter Sch???ler, die von Wittenberg ausstr???mte, bedingten es, da??? allerorten neue Schulen entstanden oder alte Schulen sich umbildeten. Angeregt und gef???rdert wurden diese Bestrebungen durch eine zweite geistige Str???mung, den da mals noch in seiner Bl???te stehenden Humanismus, der mit der Reformation besonders auf dem Gebiete der Schule manche ver wandte Ziele hat, namentlich auch in seiner Gegnerschaft gegen den scholastischen Schulbetrieb. Dieser Gegensatz beider zur Scholastik erstreckte sich aber nicht soweit, da??? man die Unterrichtsf???cher der alten Schule beseitigte. Im Gegenteil. Der sprachliche Unterricht, der schon zuvor nahezu der einzige war, wurde aufs neue in den Mittel punkt der gesamten Bildung geruckt. Nicht nur in den Schulen Sturms und Trotzendorfs beherrschte das Latein den ganzen Schul betrieb, sondern allgemein in der Mehrheit der damaligen Schul anstalten, derart, da??? selbst der Religionsunterricht dagegen weit zur???cktreten mu???te.
