This is a new revised edition of a work first published in 1961. 332 pages, with more than 300 bulbs illustrated in colour and 24 pages of b/w photos, bibliography, glossary. Cloth boards in dust-jacket which has lightly worn edges and a faded spine. Following the introductory section, the main part of the book is a detailed descriptive account, arranged alphabetically by genera of over 1000 species and varieties. For this new edition, the lists of varieties have been largely re-written, species recently introduced to cultivation have been added, and a long extra section has been added at the end to include further newly discovered or introduced species.
