So, at first I wasn't too sure about a Dani Pettrey novel set outside of Alaska, I really hated saying goodbye to the McKenna clan, but she IS one of my favorite romantic suspense authors and I couldn't imagine not reading her newest book... Well, even though Baltimore and the Cheaspeake are about as far as you can get from Alaska, except for maybe Florida or Hawaii, Cold Shot is now one of my favorite suspense novels of the year. It was great! I could hardly put it down and if I hadn't finally been forced to get some sleep I would probably have finished it in one sitting. I immersed myself in the world of danger and suspense, happily engrossed in trying to figure out the killer or killers before time ran out.
Cold Shot is a great start to what I know will prove to be another wonderfully thrilling series from one of the best authors in Christian suspense. Dani Pettrey's talent for writing engaging characters, dramatic settings, and of course chilling mysteries, is unmistakable. I quickly devoured Cold Shot but I'm not sure just how patiently I can wait for book 2 in the Chesapeake Valor series. Oh, the sweet agony of being a bookworm...
(I received a copy of this book from the Publisher in exchange for my review. All opinions are my own.)
