Sprachlich gesehen sind in den gnostisch-apokryphen Texten alle Regionen Agyptens vom Nildelta bis nach Oberagypten vertreten. Erstmal seit der Editio princeps von Carl Schmidt (1919) wird der koptisch-achimistische Text der Epistula Apostolorum nach der Kairiner Handschrift neu ediert und durch grammatische und lexikalische Indizes erschlossen.
