First edition, first printing. Book plate of E.H. Harriman [1848-1909, gilded age railroad tycoon] from the Ardens estate library (In 1885 Harriman acquired "Arden", the 7, 863 acres (31.82 km2) Parrott family estate in the Ramapo Highlands near Tuxedo, New York. His estate, Arden, was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1966. ) No writing, marking or underlining to text. One page roughly opened at top. Sporadic light foxing first several leaves and fore-edge. A square, sound, clean copy. Nice association, though to estate library, not the man, as Harriman was deceased by the time of publication. Near very good.
