engrossing dark fantasy
Chronicles of The Black company was engrossing and thought provoking. The characters do what they must, not because it is good or right, but because it is their duty, their role. Even the most sympathetic characters are willing to commit dark deeds, and even the darkest are not without some redeeming characteristics.
