In Leipzig, wohin er sich begab, um Theologie zu studieren, hat er sich unter Otto Mencke auch eifrig mit Geschichte besch???ftigt und nach Erlangung der Magisterw???rde Vorlesungen ???ber Poetik, Rhetorik, Geographie und Geschichte gehalten. Sein hervor ragendes p???dagogisches Talent verschaffte ihm bald einen grossen Zuh???rerkreis. Schon als 26 j???hriger wurde er als Rektor nach Merseburg berufen.
