This new study of the life of the British artist George Chinnery (1774-1852) has been supplemented with material collected by Geoffrey Bonsall, Director of the Hong Kong University Press, making this the most comprehensive and up to date record of Chinnery's life and work. This book is based upon a series of articles the author wrote at the beginning of 1974 for the Sunday Post-Herald in Hong Kong. For presentation in book form these articles have been completely revised and expanded. Chinnery studied with Joshua Reynolds in London at the Royal Academy.
