Seller's Description:
Very Good. No Jacket. 144 pages (complete). Signed by Brian Warner on the title page. Not many people can or could boast of having a crater on the moon named after them. Charles Piazzi Smyth would have been one of them. He was Astronomer Royal for Scotland and worked, under tough financial conditions, in the now iconic Observatory on Calton Hill in Edinburgh. His early years in Cape Town made him hungry for astronomical research and clearer skies for observation. This copy is handsome and neat. The front cover has some mild surface marking. Inside, the contents are tidy, tight, clear, clear as if unread throughout. fk.
