It was writ ten, as you are aware, without a view to its publication, with an imperfect acquaintance with the subject, and in too much haste to admit of my doing it justice. Accept it as an humble evidence of the veneration with which the blessed memory of your father is cherished, by myself, in common with all who can appreciate his virtues.
