I give it a five, because it infuses a soft poetry within the romantic comedy genre.

Smart, a little quirky and flavorful
Clever and bold in thought. The fine cast of actors work very well together in this fascinating story. Very nicely directed - I was seduced into a very interesting experience.

I had an incredible time watching this
It's just great to see a movie where the moviemakers are thinking. Maybe thinking out loud with visuals and sound and real characterizations by gifted actors.
The movie revolves around a man and his inability to accept what does not seem logical. Not that anyone of us normally do, but here, the man has the best gift in front of him - "love" - and, well, I guess the question posed is "If it isn't broke, don't fix it."
We are pulled in to this story first by keen characterizations from very talented actors and by clever and funny events. Then we get further pulled in by a sweet romance that blossoms. Kisses, music and lots of clever dialogue.
Writer- director, Nat Christian marvelously presents us with this tale. He never loses focus on who we should be following, yet allows each character to shine.
Kim Oja plays the main female character beautifully. With great acting chops, she plays two characters completely different from each other.
Christian plays the main male character flawlessly, with captivating nuances, subtle yet intriguing.
Joan Van Ark and Ed Asner lend their incredible talents as TV and studio executives. John Kassir and Taylor Negron also bring their wonderful gifts to this.
Rossano Galante's music is lyrical and haunting
And the visuals by cinematographer, Michael Hardwick along with VFX artist, Duane Condor and production designer, Dolores Piazza, all perfectly support the theme and feel.
I won't say what the ending is about, but it is a courageous move on the part of the writer.

An emotionally charged comedy
I got this movie on a recommendation. Based on the title, I wasn't aware about what it was about.
Having seen it, I would say it is about believing. Or rather, believing to make something that doesn't seem "real" to become real. It's about love. It's about how much time we spend on so many things that don't make us feel alive. And it's about a man who tries to recapture a time and a woman.
The story: A guy, who is kind of successful, goes home and watches TV, pretty much lifeless. Until he meets a certain woman under the most questionable circumstance. A circumstance that defies logic. They fall for each other. She says to not worry about making sense of it all. He goes along with it until his logic gets in the way. He thinks he lost her and tries to get her back.
"Channels" is beautifully directed (and written by) by Nat Christian, a director with a strong and special vision. He tells this story and intermingles his profound thoughts with some very funny moments, always intelligently.
There are some pretty good performances by the actors, such as Joan Van Ark, who is pretty and tough. Ed Asner is also tough and, with his great acting skill, brings a quirky humor to his character. Talyor Negron gives us a very sweet and sincere character. John Kassir is cocky and funny. Kim Oja, who plays the lead female character, is very good and comes off appealing. Nat Christian skillfully gives a wonderfully restrained, honest and unconventional characterization of our lead character.
The music is emotionally charged (credit to Rossano Galante) and the look is right on the money - contributed by cinematographer, Michael Hardwick, production designer, Dolores Piazza and VFX artist, Duane Condor.
Christian has given us a movie small in production, but big in ideas, to enjoy and ponder about.

An exceptional little movie
I read a critic saying that actor-writer-director Nat Christian is a uniquely exceptional talent. After watching CHANNELS, I agree. Christian?s honesty is quite compelling.
Ed Asner and Joan Van Ark bring name value to this very low budget movie.
Kim Oja is wonderful.
John Kassir and Taylor Negron are fun to watch.
The music by Rossano Galante gives an emotional wallop.
Nat Christian also directs with an exceptional sensitivity. As an actor, he is real.
