Volume 2 covers travels with visiting Native Americans to Dublin, and later Paris, where Catlin staged another exhibition and met King Louis Philippe. Catlin's earlier account, Letters and Notes on the Manners, Customs, and Condition of the North American Indians (1841), is also reissued in this series, along with two later books for children about life among various tribes.
