Kicking off with "Mango Mangue" by Charlie Parker & Machito, the compilation hits many high points: "E Luxo So" from Stan Getz & Charlie Byrd's Jazz Samba, "Aguas de Marco" in the excellent duet between Antonio Carlos Jobim and Elis Regina, Dizzy Gillespie's "Tin Tin Deo," Chico O'Farrill's 1995 "Manteca," and a sprightly "Elation" by Willie Bobo. The compilers wisely balanced well-known classics with a few solid obscurities, making it a great listen for any degree of appreciation.
