This book was recommended to me by many Artists and is also recommended by other various Art Books. Primarily verbage, but a lot of important data is shared.

A must for your Art Library
Great detailed descriptions of the effects of light, composition, and other fundamentals while contemporary artists who write art books tend to try to cover in a few sentences.

Great Book!
This is one of the greatest books on plein air painting out there! Very helpful and informative! Wish the pictures were in color, but doesn't really hurt the wonderful wisdom gleaned from Mr. Carlson lifetime of painting out in the open air. I highly recommend this book if you are seriuos about painting the landscape.
