Seller's Description:
Very Good in Good jacket. First edition. Tall octavo. 150pp. Illustrated with black and white photographic plates. Small soil marks at the bottom margin of a few pages in the front, light offsetting on two pages, a bit of spotting on the foredge with a tiny tear along the top edge of cover, very good in an edgeworn, good only dust jacket with chips and tears (affecting a bit of text at the crown and top of rear panel), creases, a slightly toned spine and light interior foxing. Inscribed by Carl Van Vechten on the front fly: "For Harold, in memory of a thirty year friendship. With love from Carl. March 30, 1955. New York." Van Vechten appeared to have kept associations with multiple Harolds, still a nice association nonetheless. Also Signed by Lueders on the title page.
