Players, managers, owners and broadcasters--they're all here, with captions that bring their stories to life. From the glory days of the Gas House Gang to the agony of 1985. From Medwick to Musial to McGwire and everyone in between. Mark Stang is the author of Cubs Collection, 100 Years of Chicago Cubs Images and Indians Illustrated, 100 Years of Cleveland Indians Photos (both Orange Frazer Press) as well as Baseball By The Numbers (Scarecrow Press), the guide to Major League player uniform numbers. Stang received the 1991 SABR MacMillan Research Award for this book. He also co-authored (along with Greg Rhodes) Reds in Black and White, 100 Years of Cincinnati Reds Images (Road West Publishing). The book won the 1999 SABR/Sporting News Baseball Research Award. A native of the Minneapolis/St. Paul area, Stang now resides in Fort Thomas, KY.
