Washke, is a handsome and virile war leader of the Quendake (known as the Huron by the French). He awakens, finding himself under the care of an enemy shaman and medicine man instead of experiencing a torturous death at the hands of his captors. It is a surprising turn of events, but one he is extremely thankful for. Time proves his greatest challenge as he battles whether to seek out his own people and the sister he misses and adores, or stay and conform to the customs of the woman who has captured his warrior heart. Their journey together does not prove easy as centuries of hatred between their two warring tribes creates a wedge that seems impenetrable. Time has a way of healing much, and they create a bond, strengthened by understanding, patience, passion, and a love so strong, even hatred can not pull them apart.
