This Concord album is a change of pace for acoustic guitarist Charlie Byrd. His trio (which also includes bassist Joe Byrd and drummer Chuck Redd) is joined by the Annapolis Brass Quintet, a nonimprovising chamber group. The arrangements (mostly by Tommy Newsom) nicely blend the two groups together.
