A bright copy; plates exemplary. very good Biography of American privateer William Henry Hayes. Orginally from Ohio, Hayes ran away from home and became a sailor. He made a living raiding the islands of the South Pacific for natives to sell as domestic servants and was shot in 1877 by his ship's cook. A scarce title.
