The union of these two completed the wholeness that separately they did not have as individuals. A Christian marriage is a spiritual and physical relationship of companionship, closeness, intimacy, and equality. Having reproduced children the partners in marriage are required of God to be nourished physically and spiritually and to be taught the Word of God is ideally provided for through marriage. This implies that parents are God's provision for children. Only from their parents can they most learn fully about deep, abiding love and commitment and be prepared to seek it for themselves.
